The Principle of Balance and Moderation In Islam

Assalamualaikum w.b.t.

I just started my Islamic Studies for this year a few weeks ago. Thanks to my mu'allim, Mr Al Mady for teaching me very well. May ALLAH's mercy on you. So, let me share with all my brothers and sisters about one of significant components in Islamic Civilisation, under 'The Balance and Moderation Principle'.

  • Belief
Take the middle path between two extremes : believing in something without proof and believing
in what can only be detected by the senses.

  • Practice
Man is asked to live their worldly life as well as fulfilling their religious duties and obligation.

  • Balance between the material and the spiritual
Man's nature consists of both the physical body and soul, therefore the needs of both must be
fulfilled andnot to pay more attention on either one.

  • Balance between the individual and the society
The rights of the individual and the society is guarded / protected with regards to life, honour,
dignity, property, marriage and family, life, religion, etc.

Members of society are responsible to correct any wrongdoing and improve the situation.

When interest of the individual and the society collide, interest of the society should be given
    priority.
